Huber named in local, national
contractor leadership positions
By: Holly Kramer, Staff Writer
Andy Huber, of A.L. Huber General Contractors, has been named the 2008 chairman of the Kansas City Chapter of the Young Constructors Forum and will serve on the organization’s national steering committee.
Huber said he hopes to continue the organization’s goal of serving the community.
“I want to increase membership, continue service to our Sherwood Center and help start the southern and central chapter,” Huber said.
The forum also helps participants network, exchange ideas about work and the construction industry, serve local communities, and pursue continuing education with professional development and leadership skills.
Huber, 30, had served as a member of the local steering committee of the forum for four years.
“It’s nice to be recognized,” Huber said. “It’s a good opportunity.”
Huber is a project manager for A.L. Huber Contractors. He joined the company in September 2001 after graduating from the University of Missouri with a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies.
Huber’s area of special interest is in metal building construction and he has served for the past three years as a director on the national board of the Metal Building Contractors and Erectors Association.
Huber is a fourth-generation descendent of A.L. Huber’s founder, August L. Huber Sr., and the son of Joseph T. Huber, senior vice president of the firm.
