Diederich, Kemplay
Wedding
Chrissy Diederich and James Kemplay, both of Gardner, were married May 24 in the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Paola.
Parents of the bridal couple are Bill and Darcy Diederich of Kansas City, Mo., and Chris and Vicki Kemplay of Paola.
Officiating as the couple pledged their vows in a double-ring ceremony was the Rev. Keith Lunsford.
The color theme of the wedding was navy and gold.
Wedding music was provided by the organist, Judy Jeck, and the guitarist, Bob Sandford.
The candles were lighted by Nick and Nathan Kreimeyer.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. For her special day she wore a one-piece A-line gown fashioned with a strapless bodice and corset-back. Starburst gathers, embellished with crystals, were scattered over the skirt. The neckline was accented with a fabric band ruched asymmetrically at the side and sprinkled with crystals.
Nancy Diederich attended her sister as maid of honor. Other bridal attendants were Katie Diederich, sister of the bride, and Jessie Everhart, Stephanie Scott and Kayla Kreimeyer. They wore long navy blue gowns accented in gold trim.
Steven Kemplay, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. Groomsmen were Mike Diederich, brother of the bride, and Todd Emery, Tyson Hutchinson and Bryan Hedge.
Guests were seated by Hank Brandt, Mike Emery and C.J. Stallbaumer.
Hannah Kreimeyer was the flower girl. Trey Hamblin carried the rings.
The wedding reception was held in the Ball Conference Center in Olathe. During the reception, the bride and groom had an anniversary dance dedicated to the 55th wedding anniversary of the bridegroom’s grandparents, Leland and Barbara Durham.
The bride graduated in 2006 from Rockhurst University and is employed by Farmers Insurance in Olathe. The bridegroom is a 2004 graduate of DeVry University and is employed by Hartford Life in Overland Park.
After a honeymoon in the Sandals Resort in St. Lucia in the Caribbean, they are at home in Gardner.
