Support Kansas City, a local nonprofit providing business and administrative support services to other nonprofits, was awarded the Regional Business Excellence Award by the Kansas Department of Commerce. Support Kansas City was chosen as one of four winners in the region and 26 winners statewide. “Kansas businesses are the backbone of our economy and our quality of life,” Kansas Department of Commerce Secretary Bill Thornton said. “Business Appreciation Month is our way of thanking these great Kansas businesses for all they do to keep our state strong.”
Support Kansas City, based in Mission, was selected alongside prominent for-profit businesses and a small number of nonprofit organizations that were chosen to receive the award this year. “We strive to deliver excellence to our clients, we look to award excellence in our sector through our Excellence in Nonprofit Leadership Award, and we were thrilled that the Kansas Department of Commerce recognized Support Kansas City for our efforts.” Support Kansas City Executive Director Debra Box said. In a recent national study of nonprofit support service agencies, Support Kansas City was described as having “developed effective and efficient internal systems that are responsive to clients’ needs; delivered in a timely fashion, and of the highest quality.”
