Democrats eyeing seat

Third District Congressman Dennis Moore, D-Lenexa, announced Monday he would not seek re-election.

The announcement caught many by surprise and ignited the rumor mill of who will not only seek the Republican nomination but who the Democrats will nominate as their candidate.

Possible Democrats said to be in the running are current Kansas City, Kan., Mayor Joe Reardon, former KCK Mayor Carol Marinovich, Kansas Democratic Party Chair Larry Gates, attorney Neal Sader, and freshman State Rep. Mike Slattery.
