Real name

Why does everyone call the president everything but his real name, which is Hussein? He goes by Barack and Obama but his name is also Hussein. He is trying to divide and put a Palestinian flag in Israel. We need to wake up.

Religious tolerance

We have a multitude of religions in this country and they all tolerate each other even though they think differently. I wonder why the Middle East can't operate on the same basis.

Duck Derby?

Recently they ran another Duck Derby in Brush Creek. Years ago, it was advertised extensively and people sent in money to buy tickets. In the last couple years, it's not been advertised so much. I'd buy a ticket if I could figure out how to do it.

Deer here first

I read with total disgust and sadness about the killing of the deer in Shawnee Mission Park. I believe the deer were here first. We keep building and taking all of their environment. Where is the wildlife that so many of us enjoy to go?

Expensive

I live in north Overland Park and just received a door-hanging brochure which appears to be quite expensive from Insurance Commissioner Sandy Praeger. It appears tax dollars were spent to produce it. What a great way in tough times to spend my money.

No Web sites here

Increasingly more advertisements say to "check our Web site." Don't they realize there are people who don't have computers, therefore, no Web sites?

Cut postal delivery

I'd like to see the post office cut back delivery by two or three days. They should also  have recycling bins for the catalogs and fliers you don't want. 

Not the answer

My 17-year-old granddaughter is no different than anyone else's. I don't want her getting pregnant, go on welfare, and think the government will take care of her as long as she keeps having babies. Not only would it ruin her life, the government can't afford it; the government can't take care of its older people.

Keeping quiet

I think you'll find the story about the South Carolina governor who left his post to visit his mistress in Argentina will go unmentioned by Rush Limbaugh because the governor is a Republican.

Don't change

I've seen in The Sun and at Mid America Nazarene University, the "Be the change" signs. I still believe and think most people do believe in the power of love, kindness, fairness, giving and caring. That doesn't need to be changed.
