Three generations celebrate wedding anniversaries June 17

3generation1An Overland Park couple, their daughter and son-in-law, and their granddaughter and her husband all celebrate their wedding anniversaries today, June 17.

Robert Gaines Jr. and Nova Mae (Bowling), Overland Park, celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary. The couple married June 17, 1949, in Kansas City, Mo.

Robert served the U.S. Navy on the USS Wasp during World War II and worked for Puritan Gas for 28 years. Nova was a homemaker and worked for Humana Hospital.

The Gaines have three daughters: Jan Zelch, Overland Park; Pam Russell, Manhattan, Kan.; and Sue Freeman, Overland Park.

They also have six grandchildren: Chris, Becky, Mandy, Robbie, Elizabeth and Evan; and five great-grandchildren: Victoria, Logan, Caleb, Katie and Matthew.

Ronald Zelch and Jan (Gaines), Overland Park, celebrate their 38th wedding anniversary. The couple married June 17, 1972, in Overland Park.

 Ron worked as an instructor at the American Institute of Baking in Manhattan and currently works at Caravan Ingredients.

3generation2Jan worked for 18 years as manager at Ben Franklin Crafts in Manhattan and currently is a homemaker.

The Zelches have three children: Chris Zelch, Gottmadigen, Germany; Becky Frazier, Aurora, Neb.; and Mandy Miller, Omaha, Neb.

They have four grandchildren: Logan, Caleb, Katie and Matthew.3generation3

Brian Frazier and Becky (Zelch), Aurora, Neb., celebrate their ninth wedding anniversary today. The couple married June 17, 2000, in Stromsburg, Neb.

Brian is a science teacher and Becky is a teacher and homemaker. They have two children, Katie and Matthew.
